AHC Inc. Announces $300,000 Expansion Grant from NeighborWorks America to Expand to Prince Georges County

Arlington, VA (September 30, 2011)  – AHC Inc., a nonprofit affordable housing developer in the mid-Atlantic region, announced $300,000 in funding over three years that will enable the organization to expand its service area to Prince Georges County in Maryland.

“We have worked for years in the Northern Virginia and Baltimore regions to provide quality affordable housing to those we serve, and this grant will enable AHC Inc. to expand our mission to Prince Georges County where there is tremendous need for development of workforce housing,” said Walter D. Webdale, AHC Inc. President and CEO.

The grant is part of $3.65 million in funding awarded to members of the NeighborWorks network by NeighborWorks America. AHC Inc. is the only recipient of the funding in the Washington, DC/Baltimore corridor.

“The expansion grants are truly efficient use of funding for the nonprofit industry. Instead of starting from scratch, the expansion grants enable NeighborWorks organizations to broaden their reach and bring their already established services and best practices into underserved communities,” said Eileen Fitzgerald, CEO of NeighborWorks America.
